OBITUARY
Robert B. Yates, Jr., 41, Fairfax, was pronounced dead on arrival at George H Lanier Memorial Hospital at 5:45 p.m. Sunday of an apparent heart attack.
A native of Fairfax, he was born Jan. 18, 1927. Mr Yates was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church and an employee of the Fairfax Mill. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of the Alabama National Guard.
Funeral will be held Tuesday at the Fairview Baptist church in Fairfax, with time to be announced later by Johnson-Brown Service Funeral Home, Langdale. Burial will be in Fairfax Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth Chambley Yates, Fairfax; three daughters, Mrs. Walter Helton, Shawmut, Mrs. Joe Lott,, West Point, and Miss Chris Yates, Fairfax; two sons, Robert B Yates III and Michael Yates, both of Fairfax; his mother, Mrs. Milford Langforeed, Fairfax; two brothers, Denson Yates,Ppensacola, Fla, and Timothy Yates, Fairfax; six sistes, Mrs. Claude Pouncey, Pensacola, Fla., Ms. Florence Snider, Halafax, Pa., Mrs. Ann Florist, Youngstown, Ohio., Mrs. Sharon McNair, Pensacola, Fla., Mrs. J. B. Moore, Selma, Ala., and Mrs. Wayne Fulghum, Fairfax.
