Resident Of Chickasaw Died in New Orleans
Mrs. Ellen Quinn, a beloved resident of Chickasaw county, died at the home of her son and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. R D Gaston, near New Orleans, whom she was visiting. Funeral services were held in Okolona Friday morning with the Rev. Mr. Collins, pastor of the Van Vleet Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. S F Bryant of the Okolona Presbyterian, conducting the services, followed by interment in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Mrs. Quinn is known throughout Chickasaw County as a member of the illustrious Thornton family. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. R D Gaston, New Orleans; Mrs. Dave Fouks, McCrory, Ark.; and Mrs. L E DeMoville of Okolona; two brothers, , one of whom is Rev. Duke Thornton of Bessemer and two sisters.
Mrs. Quinn was an aunt of Mrs. J S Hickman and Mr. Boyce Thornton of Houston.
