DeMoville Funeral Held In Okolona

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, from the DeMoville residence in Egypt for Mrs. John DeMoville, prominent Chickasaw woman, who died Friday evening following an heart attack. She was 58 years old.

Her death was a shock to the entire community as she had been visiting a daughter in Yazoo City and had only returned earlier in the afternoon unexpectedly to her friends.

Mrs. DeMoville, the widow of Mr. Ed DeMoville, was the daughter of the late John and Ellen Thornton Quinn. She was educated at the old normal college at Buena Vista, and taught for several years in the county schools.

In 1904, she was married to Mr. DeMoville, and since that time had made her home near Egypt.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Irene Elliott of Yazoo City, and Mrs. C B Burgin of Mayhew; four sons, Ed, Jack, Louie and Joe, all of Egypt; and two sisters, Mrs. R W Gaston of New Orleans and Mrs. R G Fowlkes of McCrory, Ark.

Mrs. DeMoville was an aunt of Miss Mary Annie Fowlkes who spent last winter here on the school faculty.

The Rev. H M Collins of Van Vleet officiated at the funeral services.
