Virgie Eddins, 76 passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008 in Seagraves.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Seagraves with Rev. Floyd Haddock officiating and Rev. Dustin McEwen assisting. Burial will follow in Gaines County Cemetery in Seagraves.

Mrs. Eddins was born July 1, 1931 in Cordell, Okla. to Elgan and Eunice Baccus. She attended school in Sudan, and continued on to Texas Tech to get her Masters Degree in Education. Virgie and Jim married July 30, 1959 in Sudan. Virgie taught in Lubbock, Sundown and Crosbyton before moving to Seagraves in 1959 where she taught for 25 years. She retired from Sea-graves ISD in 1985.

Virgie was a part of the TSTA, NEA and the Panaroma club of Seagraves.

She is best remembered for the love she had for teaching English and the students she taught. Her support was always for the Seagraves Eagles and she was the #1 fan of the Coach, her husband. However, the greatest memory is the love she had for her grandsons, her pride and joy. Her love for the boys is extreme and their Gamma will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish her memories include her husband, Jim of the home; one son, whom she dearly loved, Jim Paul Eddins and wife Lisa of Levelland, two grandsons, Cody Eddins of Grand Prairie, and Derek Eddins of Levelland. She is preceded in death by her parents. The family of Mrs. Eddins request that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in her honor to Seagraves/Loop Senior Citizen Center, Seagraves, Tx 79359 or a favorite charity.

Personal Services are being provided by Mark A. Jones Funeral Directors of Seagraves.
