Orpha L Byers Timmons, 93, formerly of 1132 Windsor Drive, WL, died at 10:05 a.m. Friday in Westminster Health care Center. She had been a resident there for the past 10 years and ill the past year and one-half.
Born in Jackson township, Tippecanoe county, June 6, 1893, she was a life long resident of Tippecanoe county, and lived in West Lafayette many years. she was a graduate of the conservatory of Music in Chicago, and taught piano in her home for a number of years. She also owned Timmons general Insurance agency in West Lafayette for 20 years.
She married in Lafayette to Harold D Timmons, who died in 1955. He was an underwriter with Equitable Life Assurance Society of New York.
Mrs Timmons was a member of first United Methodist church of West Lafayette; Waynetown chapter 336, Order of Easten Star; Knights of Pythias Sister Temple 78.
