Mary Lenore,"Nora"s first husband Stephen Elmo Lance died in 1901 leaving her a young widow with a 3 year old son Kenneth Elmo, known as "Skin." When in 1902 Pressley Seay came from Columbia, SC to Hattiesburg with the Gulf and Ship Island Railroad he met and married her in 1906. They went on to have two sons, known as "Toots" and "Teet."
Nora was a noted Hattiesburg business woman, the proprietress of two boarding houses on Jackson Street, as well as an apartment complex.
