Kenneth and Hanna Luvenia (nee Green) moved to Hattiesburg just one year after the city's incorporation in 1884 and the beginning of its expansion as a center of the lumber and railroad industries, from which was derived the nickname "The Hub City."
The father of nine children: David Emmett, Adrian Kelly, Mary Lenore (Mrs. Pressley McLeod Seay), Rachael Isadore(Mrs.William Logan), Joseph Kennedy, Clanton Jones, Virginia Loraine (Mrs. Luther Andrew Smith), Flora Hood, Lucille Jones (Mrs. James Emmett Gray)
