Illness And Death Of Mrs. Bear Had Bearing On The Husband's Death

Plano was saddened for the second time in three days when Oscar B. Bear, 74, father of Dewey Bear of Centerville, died at his home in Plano yesterday evening at 8 o'clock. His wife died Sunday noon following a long illness and was buried in Philadelphia cemetery last Tuesday afternoon.

Mr. Bear had been seriously ill for several weeks and suffered a relapse when his wife died. He was a well known stock buyer and farmer in Appanoose county, having been in the stock business for 40 years. His many friends today mourn his death.

He was born in Bureau county, Ill., March 9, 1858 and came to Appanoose county with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Bear at the age of ten and has lived near Plano ever since.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Christian church in Plano. Burial will be made in the Philadelphia cemetery following the services. Rev. Robt. Seath will officiate at the services.

He is survived in death by three daughters, Mrs. Bessie Peterson, of Centerville, Mrs. B. O. Sager of Brewster, Kans., and Mrs. A. G. Baker of Burlington, three sons, Dewey Bear of Centerville, Robert E. Bear of Mystic, C. M. Bear of White Lake, S. Dak., and two brothers, Will and Grant, of Brewster, Kans.
