WOMAN DIES ON WAY BACK FROM OUTING
The Olathe community was shocked when friends learned of the death of Mrs. Roy Keller, on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Keller and their family, including a son who was visiting here, had gone to Grand Mesa on Friday for an outing and were returning home, when Mrs. Keller fell forward, dead.
She had suffered with heart trouble for a number of years, but had seemed unusually well this summer, and in splendid health. Therefore her death was a great shock to all who knew her. Heart failure was ascribed as the cause of death.
Nevada Spurlock was born January 1, 1880 in Virginia. Her parents Mr. and Mrs. S.L. Spurlock, both survive her, and live now in Fontana, Kansas. She leaves also her husband and several children, Mrs. T.M. O'Shea, of Buffalo, N.Y., Mrs. S.L. Parsall, of Michigan, Sam Kincheloe of Michigan, who has been visiting here, Ellen and Mildred Kincheloe who live at home and Addison and Roy Keller. All but the last two children by a former marriage. A daughter and two sons are dead.
She also has a brother, Harry Spurlock, of Kansas City, and two sisters, Mrs. Grover Smith and Mrs. Nora Dale, of Fontana. Mrs. Keller has lived near Olathe for about five years, and during that time has made many warm friendships. The family formerly lived on the A.H. Toothaker place, but now are on one of Judge John C. Bell's ranches, about two miles from Olathe. Mrs. Keller was a member of the Church of God, at Olathe, and was a splendid woman.
Funeral services have not been arranged, pending the receipt of word from Mrs. Keller's parents, but will probably be held on Friday. Rev. Goode of the Church of God will be in charge, and interment will be made at Cedar cemetery.
A large number of friends will mourn over the death of Mrs. Keller and extend sympathy to the family.
