John Gail was born Jul 17,1924 to Robert and Nellie (Phillips) Whitford.
He graduated from Matfield Green High School in 1942 and Coin Electric in 1948.
He was an Army veteran of WWII, a charter member of Faith Baptist Church where he was a deacon for 20yrs.
He worked for Seymour Foods, John Morrell& Co.,and as a post office clerk for 33yrs, retiring in 1988.
He married Verna Irene Swanson on October 22,1949 and three children were born to them.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Russel, and Floyd; one sister, Rachel and three grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Verna of the home; one daughter, Eileen; two sons, Alan and Craig; four sisters; two brothers and six grandchildren.
Services for John Gail will be 11am Tuesday at Faith Baptist Church under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home.
