Funeral services for Mrs. Avis Lee Baker Hammack,age 90,were held Tuesday,Sept.18,2007,at 1 p.m. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel.Bro.Shane O.'Guin officiated.Burial followed in the Cleveland Church of Christ Cemetery.
Mrs. Hammack was born Jan.28,1917,to George and Minnie Baker.She died Sunday,Sept.16 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
She is preceded in death by her husband,Cecil Hammack;infant son,C.J.Hammack;brothers,Ray and Vaughn Baker;and sisters,Bernice McDonald and Vera Rutledge.
Survivors include two sons,Thomas(Sheran)Hammack of Berry and James(Deborah)Hammack of Bankston;one daughter,Helen(Stanley)Trimm of Gadsden;six grandchildren;14 great-grandchildren;and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Nathan Trimm,Jesse Wilbourn,Judd Gray,Michael Wilson,Danny McDonald and Terry Smith.
