Funeral services for Hazel Hogue, 89, of Cleveland will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ray Funeral Home, Cleveland. She died May 23, 2008, at Hermitage Gardens of Oxford. Burial will be in Delta Heights Memorial Gardens, Cleveland.



Mrs. Hogue was born on Aug. 25, 1918 in Fayette, Ala., to John Henry Jenkins and Ollie Mae Cockrell Jenkins. She graduated from Skene High School in 1936. She married S.K. Hogue on May 3, 1937. She was a rural mail carrier for 19 years. She and her husband lived on Hogue Farm on the Bogue until 2000. She then went to live at Wellington Place in Greenville to take care of her husband. After her husband's death in 2002, she moved to Cleveland. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cleveland and was a 4-H club leader for 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, S.K. Hogue; her parents, John and Ollie Mae Jenkins; and three brothers, Joe Edd Jenkins, Thomas Isadore Jenkins and Travis Jenkins.

Survivors include three daughters, Charlotte Lamey of Long Beach, MS, Anne Prestage of Oxford, MS, Hilda Robinson of Harrison, AR; grandchildren, Jeffery Sherwood, Cindy Parson, Celeste Sherwood, Mimi Martinson, Joe Dan Robinson, Patricia Ritchie; 10 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Hershel Jenkins, Gaynus Jenkins, Charles Jenkins, Dennis Jenkins; and one sister, Marci Dacus.

Pallbearers will be Jeffery Sherwood, Joe Dan Robinson, Henry Jenkins, Kenneth Jenkins, Mike Jenkins and Gus Hogue.

Visitation will be Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
