Rites were arranged today for Charles Jacklin, 71, R. R. 4, well known Shelby Township farmer and lifelong county resident who died at 12:45 p.m. Thursday at Major Hospital. He had been ill since Feb. 11.
Rev. William Cranford will conduct services at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Ewing Mortuary. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 3:00 p.m. Saturday.
Mr. Jacklin was born Dec. 18, 1892, in the home where he resided. He was a son of Thomas and Mary Ann (Shutt) Jacklin. On Nov. 6, 1928, he married Connie M. Miller and she survives with two foster children, Mary and Marie Wilson at home and three nephews.
Mr. Jacklin was an Army veteran of World War I, and a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, Shelby Lodge F. and A. M. No. 28, and American Legion Victory Post 70. (Obit: The Shelbyville News, March 13, 1964)
