Pogue W. Funston, 86, a member of one of Allen County's best known pioneer families, died last night at his home, 320 S. Third street. He was a brother of the late Gen. Frederick Funston and the son of E. H. Funston, the first Allen Countian to represent this district in the House of Representatives.

Mr. Funston was born near Carlyle and farmed near there until he retired several years ago. In 1892 he married Minnie White. To this union three children were born who survive him, Herbert Funston, Coulee Dam, Wash., Clifford Funston, Independence, and Mrs. Hazel Coffield, Parsons. His first wife died in 1902.

In 1911 he married Ella Snyder, who survives. To this union, one son, Walter Funston, Hood River, Ore., was born who also survives. In addition he leaves a brother, Aldo Funston, Parsons; a sister, Mrs. Ella Eckdall, Emporia; 15 grandchildren and 20 great grand-children.

Services will be conducted by the Rev. Earl McConnelee at 2 p. m. Monday in the Sleeper Chapel. Burial will be at the Iola Cemetery.
