Musician. Tater was extremely well known and revered in the Bluegrass world. He was a member of Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys as a fiddler and a bass player. He worked with all kinds of people through the years and even played on Patty Loveless' most wonderful Mountain Soul album. One artist he also worked for was Wilma Lee Cooper.Bluegrass fiddler who played for many Country and Bluegrass legends, including Bill Monroe, Patty Lovelace, Wilma Lee and Stoney Cooper, Mac Wiseman, Jimmy Martin, and Carl Story, just to name a few. Tater can be heard playing the bass on Patty Lovelaces' recording of "The Boys Are Back In Town". Tater passed away on October 17, 2007 at his home in Jonesborough, Tennessee after battling Lung Cancer.
