Ulysses A. "Hadley" LEITER, 87, son of one of Fulton county's pioneer settlers, died Saturday afternoon at 5 o'clock in the Maple Manor Rest Home at Libertyville, Ill., where he had been a patient the past 14 months.

A longtime resdent of Rochester, at 419 Jefferson street, Mr. Leiter had been in ill health several years.

His father, Jacob LEITER, settled in Aubbeenaubbee township about 1845 and helped found the community which took his name, Leiters Ford.

Mr. Leiter was born near Leiters Ford on Nov. 6, 1871, to Jacob and Lydia Rose LEITER. His wife, the former Clara CAMPBELL, died May 18, 1958.

A resident of this community his entire life, Mr. Leiter was a retired salesman. He was a member of the Grace Metodist church, Masonic lodge of Rochester and the Leiters Ford I.O.O.F. lodge.

Suriving are one son, Albert C. LEITER, Gurnee, Ill.; two daughters, Miss Florence LEITER, Cedar Rapids, Ia., and Mrs. Hazel BEMAN, Winnetka, Ill.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs Mollie LEITER, Rocester, and two brothers, Levi [LEITER], Rochester, and Edward [LEITER], Bethlehem, Pa.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with Dr. Claude YOUNG officiating, assisted by the Rochester Masonic order. Burial will be in the Leiters Ford I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
