James and Lucy were married December 16, 1939. They lived the rest of there lives out in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.


The following is the obituary listed in the Broken Arrow Ledger:

Funeral services for James Willhite were conducted 2p.m., today in the Shellenbarger Free Will Baptist Church, Bixby, Oklahoma. Rev. Lonny Burks will officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Haven Cemetery.
Willhite, 70, died Saturday in a Tulsa hospital. He retired from Flintco Corporation in 1976.
Survivors are wife, Lucy, of the home; daughter, Wanda Pitson of Porter; five brothers, Carl Willhite of Collinsville, Will Willhite and Elmer Willhite of Broken Arrow, Homer Willhite of Coweta and Clarence Willhite of Owasso; two sisters, Lula Ward and Irene Corvett of Tulsa; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Casket bearers are Troy Yokum, Tom Watkins, Bill Atkins, John Brooks, Elmer Sturgeon and Roy Keele.

When I was younger, James and Lucy would take me fishing all the time. Some of my most treasured memories are of times spent with them on the banks of the Illinois River in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
