Charlie was a merchant marine.
He spending a lot of time at sea.
He always had his sea chest packed and was able to move quickly. Even to his dying day.

He was a heavy smoker, he smoked Camel Cigarettes with no filters.
He was also a heavy drinker.

Charles died on a hot summer day when the air quality was very poor. He had lung problems, and would cough and gag a lot when he was older.

One funny story was, he came home to his daughters house one night. But the daughters husband would not let him in because he was so drunk.

Charlie was not drunk enough apparently, and this really pissed him off. So he took the contents of the garbage pails, which in those days were not wrapped in plastic.

The smelly eggs, and meat and every thing else that was in the garbage, and he filled the front seats of the car with the garbage. Then he put the empty pails into the back seat.
