Verna Barton, 104, of Altoona Manor Care Center, 200 Seventh Ave. S.W. died of a heart ailment Sunday at Des Moines General Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Altoona Funeral Home and burial will be in Old Altoona Cemetery.
Mrs. Barton lived in Altoona all her life and moved to the care center in 1990. She was a homemaker and member of Altoona United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.
Two grandchildren survive.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Altoona Order of the Eastern Star.
