Jana was born to John and Vamperdale Johnson Doolin. She married Clyde M. "Buddy" Rose in 1955. She later married Carroll J. Miller on Jan. 21, 1972. He passed away on May 1, 2004.
Jana was last employed by Foster Gallagher as an inspector and was the first African-American cashier and a waitress at Kresge in Sheridan Village.
She attended Trinity Temple Christian Church.
She leaves three sons, Marcellus Rose, Dana Rose and Kevin (Linda S.) Rose; stepsons, Gilbert Rose and Buddy Rose; one daughter, Linda Rose Bassett; 17 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
