Mary Jean Crain, 84 of Covington, died at 10:35 a.m. EDT Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at The Waters of Covington.

She was born Dec. 24, 1923, in Troy Township near Covington, daughter of Theodore and Eva (Maffett) Grubb. She was a 1941 graduate of Covington High School. She married Donald H. Crain April 5, 1941, at Clarksville, Tenn.

She was the bookkeeper for Crain Plumbing Heating and a homemaker. She was a longtime member of the Covington United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

Surviving are her husband; three sons, Jerry (Charlotte) Crain, Bradley (Marlea) Crain and Randy (Kathy) Crain, all of Covington; a sister, Lois Mycroft, and a brother, Jack (Linda) Grubb, both of Covington. Also surviving, eight grandchildren, Debbie Taylor, Brian Crain, Angela Galloway, Ben Crain, Holly Crain, Jessica Marcinko, Jaime Crain and Josh Crain; eight great-grandchildren, Travis and Ryan Taylor, Brittany, Jordan, and Sydni Crain, Dane and Hattie Galloway and Levin Marcinko; a great-great-grandson, Coye Fields, and another great-grandson due in July. Her parents and her twin sister, Martha Jane, preceded her in death.
