GALENA, Kan.—Richard Jardine, 85, Galena route 1, died at 3:57 a.m. Tuesday in Baxter Memorial Hospital following a three-year illness.

Born Nov. 17, 1885, in Clarkston, Utah, he was married April 15, 1939 in Vancouver, Wash., to Mae Coyle Deem, who survives.

Mr. Jardine was a retired railroad car inspector. He moved to the Quaker Valley community, north of Riverton in 1942, where he established a residence. Although he traveled about the country much of the time he had made this his permanent home the last seven years.

Surviving, in addition to his widow, are three sons, Richard W. Jardine and Jack Jardine, both of Salt Lake City, Utah, and CWO William Jardine, Fort Sill, Okla.: two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Farrell, Santa Ana, Calif., and Mrs. Shirley Farrell, Fullerton, Calif.: a sister, Mrs. Emily Larson, Logan, Utah; several granchildren (sic) and great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be announced by Derfelt Funeral Home.

GALENA, Kan. — Funeral services for Richard Jardine, 85, Galena route 1, who died at 3:57 a.m. Tuesday in Baxter Memorial Hospital following a three-year illness, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Riverton (Kan.) Friends Church. The Rev. Harry Mitchell and The Rev. Richard Buck will officiate, and burial will be in the Quaker Cemetery north of Riverton under direction of the Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena.

Pallbearers will be John Coyle, John Allen Rowland, Jim Rowland, Tom Coyle, Larry Evans and C. B. Van Auker. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today.
