Mrs. Edward Magnuson
Services for Mrs. Edward J. (Elizabeth) Magnuson, 70, of 1705 Washington, will be held Tuesday at Wetmore Funeral home. She died Saturday at 3:45 pm in Porter Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
The owner of Magnuson - Trowbridge insurance angency, she was prominent in Eastern Star activites.
Born Sept. 6, 1895 in Liberty Township, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Dorothy (Glissman) Hineline. She was married to Edward J. Magnuson Aug. 11, 1915 in Valparaiso. Her husband died Dec. 7, 1961, 40 years after founding the insurance angency.
Mrs. Magnuson was a member of First Methodist Church, Bethel circle of WSCS, a life member of the Valparaiso Woman's Club and a member of the Independant Insurance Agents of Indiana.
She was current vice president of the Eastern Star Past Matrons, worthy matron in 1961 and a member of Emera Club, a district organization of past matrons.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert A. (Myrna) Trowbridge of Valparaiso; three grandchildren and three sisters: Mrs. John (Cora) Weimer Sr., of RFD 5, Mrs. Carl (Mary) Johnson of RFD 3 and Mrs. Roy (Liliah) Linderman of RFD 1, Chesterton.
She was preceded in death by a son, daughter, three brothers and four sisters.
The Rev. Almon Coble will officiate at services and burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
