Passed away at home on November 9, 2002, in Colma, CA at the age of 88 after a 13, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. both at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home (Mission Chapel) 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband for 65 years of wife Grace and loving father of Richard Cortesi of San Mateo, CA and Ellen Cortesi of Sacramento, CA. Devoted grandfather to Anthony Cortesi of San Mateo, CA Joseph D. Cortesi of Union City, CA and Matthew O' Donnell of Yuba City, CA. His brother Joseph Cortesi of Half Moon Bay, CA survives him. A native of San Francisco, Martin worked as a Teamster for 40 years while serving as a volunteer with the Colma Fire Dept. for 20 years, and was elected to multiple terms as Broadmoor Fire Commissioner. A vigil service will be held Wednesday evening, November 13, 2002 at 7:00 PM followed by a funeral liturgy on Thursday, November 14, 2002, at 11:00 AM at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave, Daly City, CA.
