Myron H. Jackson passed away Friday, May 16, 2008. He was born on February 22, 1909 on a farm near Mount Pleasant, Iowa to Edgar and Emma Jackson. Myron grew up on his parent's farm and graduated from Mt. Sterling High School in Pleasant Lawn. He married Frances Louise Hannum Jackson on October 25, 1930. He worked as a supervisor at Western State Hospital for many years until his retirement in 1973. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was an avid golfer, he golfed until his early 90's and had 12 holes in one. He loved gardening, especially growing roses. He had a great interest in photography and loved to travel with his wife in the Western U.S. in their trailer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, and his 2 brothers. He is survived by his daughter, Jean Buckland; his granddaughter Laura Buckland of Seattle, and grandsons, Steve Buckland of Dallas, TX and Scott Buckland of Philadelphia, PA; and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be Thursday, May 22nd at 2pm in the Evergreen Chapel at New Tacoma Cemetery with viewing one hour before service.
