Mary was born in Ireland. Emigrated with her family during her childhood. Married George Grindley in 1866 in New Orleans, Louisiana and settled there bringing up her children, until late 1890, when they moved to Washington DC. Mother of 9 children, two of whom died in infancy. Died at her residence 44 Seaton Place, Northwest, Washington DC.
