Obituary read: "Marion H. Cooper, 85, Elmore Street, Crawfordsville, died at 3:35 p.m. Friday, June 30, 1989, in Culver Hospital. He was born Jan. 18, 1904, at Mellott, the son of Charles M. and Rosa McAlister Cooper. He was married May 12, 1945, at Rockville, to Mollie Elmore, who survives.

He was a 1924 graduate of Mellott High School and was a retired stock clerk at R.R. Donnelley & Sons, Crawfordsville, where he was employed 27 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 53rd General Hospital Command. He was a member of Milligan Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Surviving, besides his wife, are five brothers, Forrest, Lakeland, Fla.; Chester, Reno, Nev.; Fern, Mellott; Floyd, Attica, and Dowie, Crawfordsville, and a sister, Mrs. Elva Ballah, Veedersburg. He was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Powers Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, with the Revs. Chris Hotopp Zachary and Ann Smith officiating. Burial was in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery."
