Obituary read: "Miss Gladys M. Cooper, 79, of Mellott, ind., died at 12:15 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 26, 1987) at CoVington Manor Nursing Home, where she had resided several years. Born in Mellott on July 8, 1908, she was the daughter of Charles M. and Rosa McAlister Cooper.

She graduated from Mellott' High School and had been a clerk at the J.C. Penney store, Crawfordsville, Ind., and worked at Donnolly's in Crawfordsville. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Mellott.

Survivors: one sister, Mrs. Elva Ballah, Veedersburg, Ind.; six brothers, Forest of Lakeland, Fla., Dowie and Marion H., both of Crawfordsville, Chester of Reno, Nev., Floyd of Attica and Fern of Mellott.

Visitation: noon to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Maus Funeral Home, Attica. Services: 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Maus. Officiating: the Rev. William Chapman. Burial: Waynetown Masonic Cemetery."
