Anna G. Otteni

Anna G. Chiofalo Otteni, aged 91, gracefully departed from this world on April 6, 2024, leaving behind an abundance of kindness, service, and love. Born on January 27, 1933, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the cherished daughter of the late Natale Chiofalo and Rose (Grillo) Antonuccio.

Anna's journey through life was marked by enthusiasm and compassion. After graduating from Edward W. Bok Technical High School, she embarked on a path that led her to her career as a receptionist at DuPont Chestnut Run Plaza, where her warmth and professionalism brightened the workplace. Additionally, she found immense joy in her part-time role at Hallmark, where she shared her infectious smile with customers.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Anna was deeply committed to serving her community. Her volunteer work with Christiana Care and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church was a testament to her generous spirit. She found delight in contributing to the annual carnivals, spreading joy and creating lasting memories for all involved.

Anna's interests were as varied as they were enriching. Whether she was engrossed in a good book, skillfully crocheting, exploring new destinations, hosting gatherings for family and friends, or engaging in spirited card games with friends, she approached each activity with a zeal and zest for life.

For over three decades, Anna was a devoted member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, where her faith illuminated her every action. She served as a Eucharistic minister, poured her heart into volunteering at the food pantry, and embraced various other roles within the parish community. Her dedication to her faith was unwavering, even as her health began to wane in later years.

Anna's journey was made brighter by the love she shared with her late husband of 31 years, Francis T. Otteni. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. In addition to her husband, Anna was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law Ronald DeMarco, Sr.

Anna is survived by her son Thomas J. Rogers of Millsboro, DE, her daughter Celine C. Stuart (Robert) of Millsboro, DE, her sister Annette DeMarco of Wilmington, DE, her granddaughter Colette Bachich (Chris) of Turnersville, NJ, and her great-grandchildren Joey, Nick, Peyton, and Christopher Bachich, all of Turnersville, NJ. She is also survived by her nephews Ronald DeMarco, Jr. of Wilmington, DE, and Kenneth DeMarco (Mary) of Newark, DE, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Her services will be held privately at a later date in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Anna's honor may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 34 S Bear-Christiana Road, Bear, DE 19701 or Accent Care, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 407, Newark, DE 19713.
