Ron was a graduate of Southeast Catholic High School in South Philadelphia and LaSalle University. He served our country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged following the death of his father. Ron was employed with General Motors Corp. as the Director of Labor Relations, having retired in 1992 after 30 years of exemplary service.
Ron was dedicated to his Catholic Faith and a longtime, active member of St. John the Beloved Parish. Immensely proud of his Italian Heritage, he enjoyed spending time at the shore and was an avid sports fan, especially his beloved Philly teams. He also loved animals and enjoyed feeding the birds in his yard. Ron also served as president of his neighborhood civic association for 20 years. He enjoyed movies, both in the theater and at home, and good food.
Forever devoted to his family, Ron will be dearly missed by his wife of 61 years, Annette R. (DiCarlo) DeMarco; his sons, Ronald DeMarco, Jr., and Kenneth DeMarco and wife, Mary; his grandchildren, Anthony, Alayna, Joseph, Nicholas and Madison; his brother, Dr. Arthur DeMarco and wife, Mary; many nieces and nephews.
Ron was predeceased by his grandson, Kenneth DeMarco, Jr.; his sister, Rita Brown.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, DE 19808 on Monday, February 13 from 10:30 - 11:45AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00PM, immediately followed by interment in All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ron may be made to St. John the Beloved Parish.
