---John Curl Shumaker, 66, of Anchorage, Alaska died unexpectedly following a heart attack Sunday in Homer, Alaska.
---Funeral services and burial will be held thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Anchorage, Alaska City Cemetery. The body is at the Evergreen Mortuary at Anchorage.
---The son of Albert and Susie Curl Shumaker, he was born in Kirksville on April 24, 1907. Mr. Shumaker was reared in Kirksville. During World War II, he served with the United States Sea Bees. For the past 30 years he had made his home in Alaska.
---Surviving are his wife, Alice; three daughters, Jonni and Tamera Shumaker and Terri Dingman, all of Anchorage, Alaska; one son, Fred Shumaker of Anchorage Alaska; one grandchild; one sister, Beulah Puffar of Las Vegas, Nevada and four cousins, Phyllis Frank and Bernice Coy, both of Kirksville; Peta White of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Faye Christian of B_________.
