James L.Shaffner,51,Urbana route,died Monday at 11:42 A.m.in Mercy Memorial Hospital.He Had been admitted to the hospital earlier Monday morning.
He was born Jan,4,1907,in Shelby County,the son of Jacob and Ada (Wert) Shaffner.he was a member of the Interdenominational Church of Sidney,O.,and a resident of Champaogn County 34 years.
Shaffner was a employee of the American Agregates Corp.for 13 years as a shovel and heavy equipment Operator.
Survivors are his wife,Mary Elizabeth Shaffner;three sons,Arthur L.Urbana route three,Franklin S.,Woodstock route one.,and Richard D.at home; three half-sisters,Mrs Marion(Nellie Ropp,Urbana route three,Mrs.Leroy(Tillie)Schnees,Delaware,O.,Mrs Edward(Dotothy)Newhart,Springfield,one brother,Clifford Shaffner,Conover route one; one sister,Mrs.James (Flossie)Lewis,Bradenton,Fla,four granchildren and a number of nieces,nephews and cousins.
