Thelma was a very hard worker at work and at home. She enjoyed home canning, gardening, sewing, working word searches and cooking. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved peach milkshakes, making homemade ice cream on the back porch in the summertime and she made the best homemade hamburgers in the world. She liked to play cards, only if you let her win.
Thelma rocked many grandchildren in her red squeaky rocking chair and always hummed her favorite song "Amazing Grace." She has been a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Pawnee. Thelma's front door was always open to anyone and she was a grandma to everyone who entered her life. She was loved and will greatly be missed by all who knew her.
Thelma is survived by: two sons, Lester Stocker and his wife, Mary, Douglas, Wyo., Elton Stocker and his wife, Margaret, Glencoe; three sisters, Beulah Flager, Stillwater, Neva Rourk, Blackwell, Erma McBrain, Tulsa; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; plus a great- and a great-great-grandchild expected soon, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Besides her husband, Clyde, she was preceded in death by: her parents; her son, Wayne LeRoy Stocker; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; four brothers, Virgil Ellington, Roy Ellington, Bill Ellington and Kenneth Ellington; and her sister, Lela Boyd.
Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee.
