He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Pearl of Harper.
Wayne grew up in Harper, attending Harper High School graduating with the class of 1940. He worked for Boeing Airplane Company until the early 1960's. He attended Barber College, received his Barber license and opened "Wayne's Barber Shop" in Lindsborg Kansas. He later moved his Barber Shop to McPherson Kansas where he continued his trade for several years. He returned to the Boeing Airplane company as a coordinator in engineering retiring in 1987.
