Obituary - LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- Our beloved father, grandfather and best friend, Newell Robert "Bob" Jones, age 54, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away due to a sudden heart attack on November 22, 2000 in Blythe, California.

He was working in Alpine, California and was on his way to Las Vegas to spend Thanksgiving with his children.

He was born the fourteenth of fifteen children born to Isaac Rulon and Rebecca May Allen Jones in Torrey, Utah. He married Lois Ann Brown, May 28, 1966 in Fremont, Utah.

They were later divorced.

Newell was a highly-skilled construction engineer, who succeeded greatly.

He took pride with great satisfaction when the job was completed.

He was highly respected throughout his career as he worked the Northwestern states, including Alaska, on major highway and conservation projects.

He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family, whom he loved so much.

This wonderful man will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his three children: Lisa Ann (Darren) Ence of Central Valley, Utah; Roger Robert (Karla) Jones of Sandy, Utah; Monica May (Eli) Childers of Las Vegas, Nevada; six grandchildren, D.J. and Megan Ence, Kailey and Kaiden Jones, Wyatt and Morgan Childers; 11 sisters and three brothers.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law.

Services will be Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000 at 1 p.m. in the Loa LDS Stake Center. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 260 N. 400 West, in Richfield, Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the stake center in Loa, Wednesday from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Torrey Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
