Davis Services Were Wednesday
Funeral services were held at the Strode Chapel for Charles E. Davis, 80, who died Saturday at his home.
The Rev. Robert Tibbett, pastor of the Church of the First Born, officiated with interment at the Glenwood cemetery with IOOF services held at the grave.
Charles E. Davis was born on Dec. 28, 1877 in Llano county, Texas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Davis. He was married to Jewel L. Nowels on Dec. 12, 1927, at Fayettville, Ark. He had come to Oklahoma at the age of six and lived in Perkins since Sept. 1928. He was a member of the Church of the First Born and of the IOOF Lodge No. 334 of Perkins.
He is survived by his widow, two sons and two daughters, Everett of Tulsa; Hilton of Sand Springs, Mrs. Edith Horner [Harner], Tulsa and Mrs. Everett [JoAnn] LeGate, Perkins, also two step daughters, Mrs. John Porter of Perkins, and Mrs. Albert Porter of Arcadia, California.
