Emma Axsom Stricken

Mrs. Emma Axsom, 77, the widow of James R. Axsom, died at 6 o'clock this morning at the home of a son, Paul Axsom, 200 North Gladstone avenue.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Day's funeral home at Bloomington. Burial will be made at Rose Hill cemetery at Bloomington. Casket will be open after 6 o'clock tonight at Barkes and Inlow funeral home, and after 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Day funeral home.

Survivors are the following children, Paul Axsom and Mrs. Louise Grigdesby of Columbus, James and Parvin Axsom of Smithville, Nolan and L. D. Axsom and Mrs. Stacey Honeycutt of Bloomington and Mrs. Nolan Bowman of Heltonville; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her husband died Oct. 18, 1947.

Mrs. Axsom was a member of the Assembly of God church at Bloomington. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Charles and Molly Nice Ross, born April 8, 1882. She lived most of her life in Lawrence and Monroe counties. Mrs. Axsom had been in ill health two years and seriously ill two weeks.
