The deceased was well known in the District as a School Teacher, and be remembered, no doubt, by many for his lessons in letters and morals. He was a consistent member of the M. E. Church for thirty-nine years, his home being a home for the Minister of the Gospel. It was his delight to be at Church in connection with his brethren, and but few enjoyed themselves better than he in the house of God. When addressed, in his last hours, in regard to his peace of mind, being unable to speak, the tears traced each other down his cheeks, and he raised his hand, with a smile on his face, in token of victory. His friends mourn because of his departure, but not without hope. " Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord." [Keowee Courier]
