L.F. Johnston, Age 69, died at his residence, 911 South Railroad Street at 3:20 pm Monday of a complication of diseases after an illness off two weeks. Mr. Johnston has lived in the tri-cities for the last thirty years and has made many friends who will learn of his death with regret. He was a devout member of the Primitive Baptist Church since a young man. His wiffe preceeds him six months ago to a day.

surviving him are four daughters: Mrs. Ellie Lawrence, Mrs. J.F. Freeman, both of Phenix city, Mrs. Hattie McGarr of Tallassee, Alabama and Mrs. Genia Hethcox of Columbus. One granddaughter whom he reared, Mabel Marshall of Phenix City. Three sons, E. L. Johnston, and J. F. Johnston of Phenix City, L. M. Johnston of Columbus; Two sisters, Mrs. Jane Sellers of Alexander City, Alabama; Mrs. Rufus Lambert of Equality, Alabama; Two Brothers, D.L. Johnston of Hissop, Alabama and Tom Johnston of Sylacauga, Alabama.

Funeral will be held from the Primitive Baptist Church at 3 pm Tuesday by Rev. T.A, Powell. Interment in Pine Grove. T.W. Britton, Funeral Director, in charge.
