Vera Frances Pittman, 83, of Amarillo died Tuesday, May 13, 2008.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Southlawn Assembly of God with the Rev. Jerad Middaugh, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mrs. Pittman was born March 30, 1925, in Chandler to Jim and Lelia Massey. She married Riley Pittman on Dec. 22, 1945, in Tyler. She was a member of Southlawn Assembly of God. Mrs. Pittman was owner/operator of a gift shop.

She was preceded in death by her husband in January 1987; a brother, Randolph Massey; and a great-grandson, Reed Tabor.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Shuping and husband Johnnie of Amarillo; a brother, Malcolm Massey and wife Joyce of Wichita Falls; four sisters-in-law, Janelle, Doris, Leora and Bonnie; two grandchildren, Shane Shuping of Amarillo and Kendra Tabor and husband Brian of Whitehouse; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Ryan Tabor; and a host of church family and friends.

The family suggests memorials be to Southlawn Assembly of God, 4300 S. Bowie St., Amarillo, TX 79110.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
