Age 89, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2008, at Heartland Hospice House surrounded by her family.
Born in Wilmington, Mrs. Green was the daughter of the late Giacomo and Rosina (Fortino) Amoroso. She worked as a part-time housekeeper at St. Anthony's Rectory for 25 years. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church and BVM Sodality.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Green was predeceased by her husband, Francis A. Green, Sr. in 1986; her brothers, Dominick, John, and Albert Amoroso; her sister, Jessie Scotolati; and her daughter-in-law, Sally Green. Mrs. Green is survived by her sons, Francis A. Jr. and his wife, Maria Aiello-Green of Lewes, George J. of Wilmington, and Robert J. of Newark; her daughter, Eleanor A. Green of New Castle; her sister, Margaret Olivere of Wilmington; 9 grandchildren, Frank, Lisa, Claire, Julie Ann, Jason Mahon, Bryan, Christopher, Jon and Katie; and two great grandsons, Jack and Joseph.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 16, at 10:30 am, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th & Dupont Street, Wilmington, where friends may call after 9:30 am. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Ashland, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Heartland Hospice House, 5661 Ochletree Lane, Wilmington, DE 19808.
