QUAKER VALLEY
OBITUARY.
Abner B. Lamb was born in Randolph county, N. C in 1823. When about 17 years old he went to Chatham county where he married Jemima Picket in 1846. To this union were born nine children, five of whom are still living and attended the funeral, except one daughter, Mrs. Wm. Morgan, of Las Angeles, Cal. In 1866 he moved with his family to Morgan county, Indiana. After a short residence at that place he came to Kansas and settled in Quaker Valley, where he buried the wife of his youth. Later on he moved with his family to Americus, then to Dunlap, Kansas, where he died in his 88th year, with an assurance of a happy entrance into the celestial city above.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday in the grove at the home of his daughter, Mrs. T. E. Harvey, conducted by Rev. Elwood Haworth. Interment in the Valley cemetery beside the wife of his youth, according to his request.
