DORAN, Va. -- Mrs. Eartrue Spencer, 75, passed away Tuesday
morning, Feb. 13, 2001, in a Marion, Va., hospital.
Born March 29, 1925, in Russell County, Va., she was a daughter of
the late James Peyton and Laura Vance Strouth. She was a lifelong
resident of the Russell and Tazewell County areas and of the
Holiness faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
husband, James Henry Spencer;

one son, Buford Spencer;


one daughter, Mary Gertrude Spencer;
four brothers;
and one sister.

Survivors include one special grandson, Tony Spencer of the home;

three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Janice Maydean) Ball of Belfast, Va.,
Mrs. Fred (Geraldine) Newberry of Richlands, Va., and Mrs. Willard
(Judy) Boyd of Bristol, Va.;

one son, Hubert and Glenda Spencer of
Swords Creek, Va.;

one sister, Ida Meadows of Page, Va.;

one brother, Garnet Strouth of Baptist Valley, Va.;

eight grandchildren;
10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the
Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, with Rev. Ancil Childress,
Rev. Tommy Dye and Rev. Farley Spencer officiating. Interment will
follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, Va.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 5 p.m.
