Jim Edd Bunch was born on December 16, 1896, in Whitley County, Kentucky to Rev. John Franklin Bunch and Rebecca Jane Huddleston.

Jim Edd married Ruby. Together they had one child Opal Bunch. Ruby was Born on June 2, 1900, and died on September 15, 1926.

Jim Edd was an occupational coal miner for the Gatliff Coal Company. After Ruby passed on he met Dorothy Daugherty. Together they had 2 children Charles "Chili" Bunch (B. Dec. 12, 1942-D. Oct. 12,1995) and George "Baby George" Windley Bunch (B. Jan. 26,1945-D. Aug. 22,2012) both of whom have passed on. Jim Edd and Dorothy Daugherty never married but were together at the time of his passing on June 1, 1945.

Jim Edd died as a result of a Myocardial Infarction otherwise known as a Heart Attack. He passed away in the Gatliff Community. He is buried in Rock Springs Cemetery in Gatliff beside his wife Ruby Wilson . Dorothy is buried close by.
