Ron was a beloved husband, father of five and grandpa to fourteen grandchildren. He was born in Onaway, Michigan on March 30, 1940 to Guy and Flossie Peterson Milligan.
He graduated from Onaway High School and then went on to earn his BS degree from Central Michigan University and a Master's degree from Univ. of Utah. He began his professional life as a teacher and coach for fourteen years in several Michigan schools. He accepted a job as an Industrial Engineer at Sparton Electronics in Jackson, Michigan where he held a patent on a device he invented. This was followed by an engineering job at Chrysler in Detroit. In 1981 he accepted an engineering/managerial position with Cummins Diesel Engine in Charleston, SC. He had a rewarding career with Cummins, Engineering Test Services division, for twenty years and lived in Summerville, SC. During his life he had coached little league ball, taught high school religion, mentored budding engineers, and sat on several school and community boards. Ron and his wife Mary (Patrick) moved to Sun City in January 2004. He was an avid golfer with the Men's Golf Association and enjoyed playing tennis and bridge. He was always very athletic, loved the beach, and golfed until only a few weeks before he passed.
