Harold Kenneth Hineline, the oldest son of John Wilson and Nora (Corman) Hineline, was born on a farm near Ruskin, Nebraska, on January 12, 1908. He departed this life at the Good Samaritan Center in Superior, Nebraska, on Monday, November 8, 1993, at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 27 days.
Harold attended school in Nuckolls County. On January 3, 1932, in Nelson, Nebraska, he married Ella Wortman. To this union were born one daughter and three sons. During their marriage, they lived in several towns in Nuckolls and Thayer Counties, with nearly 45 years being in Davenport, where he worked as an auto mechanic. He was owner and operator of Hineline's Garage.
He was a Charter Member of the Davenport Lions Club, a volunteer fireman for over 20 years and a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Ella passed away August 24, 1980. Harold married Mildred Hayes of Superior January 6, 1981. They retired in Superior, where he was active in Senior Citizens, member of several card clubs, attended Hardy Union Church and was an avid bingo fan.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nova Child; and a brother, Melvin.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred of Superior; one daughter, Evelyn Heinrichs and her husband, Bob, of Norfolk, Nebraska; three sons, Harold and wife Dolores of Bakersfield, California, Lester and wife Lila of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Larry and wife Jan of Longmont, Colorado; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a stepson, Calvin Hayes and wife Connie, a stepdaughter, Carolyn Combs and husband Dennis, all of Superior; 7 step grandchildren; 12 step great grandchildren and other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 12, 1993, at 10 a.m. from Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska, with Pastor Dale Bussinger officiating. Music was provided by Pat Cleveland and Sandra Bothwell singing duets of "How Great Thou Art" and "In The Garden" with Carlita Price as organist. Casketbearers were Troy Hayes, Jeff Combs, Doug Heinrichs, Mark Hertz, Thad Hineline, Todd Hayes, Patrick Gilg, Gregg Tolin and Bob Hineline. Burial was in Davenport Cemetery, Davenport, Nebraska. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior was in charge of the arrangements.
