DOWAGIAC -Sherry Lynn Boyd, 51, of Dowagiac, began life on February 25, 1957, in Dowagiac, the daughter of Alton "Poppy" and Barbara (Watts) Brookins.
She was a 1976 graduate of Dowagiac Union High School.
Sherry was united in marriage to her husband of 31 years, George Boyd, on January 29, 1977, in Dowagiac.
She had been employed as a machine operator at Creative Foam for 12 years in Dowagiac.
Her loving family includes her husband, George Boyd of Dowagiac; her children, Brandy Boyd of Jackson, MS, Jerred Boyd of Dowagiac and Danielle Boyd of Fort Wayne, IN; her granddaughter, Tosceona Boyd-Callicott; a sister, Robin Brookins of Dowagiac; brothers, Roger (LaVeda) Brookins of Dowagiac and Rodney Brookins of Dowagiac; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Sherry passed away in her home on Saturday, May 3, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alton "Poppy" Brookins.
McLauchlin-Clark Funeral Home is serving her family. Sherry's graveside memorial service will be held at Riverside Cemetery on Friday, May 9th, at 1 p.m., led by Reverend Joe Jackson. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
