Mary (DeWane) Statter
May 25, 1933 ~ March 3, 2024 (age 90)
Mary DeWane Statter, 90, of Crystal Lake, passed away on March 3, 2024, following a brief illness. She was born in Caledonia, IL, on May 25, 1933, to the late Emmett and Isabel (Holsker) DeWane.
She was a 1951 graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School in Woodstock and later graduated from the American Beauty Academy. Mary enjoyed her time as a practicing beautician and was very devoted to her family and Catholic faith.
Mary married Ralph W. Statter on September 10, 1960, in Woodstock. She cherished gathering with family and friends and lived a simple life, taking pride in caring for her home and family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons, and grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph W., and her siblings, Bernard (Arlene) DeWane, John (JoAnn) DeWane, Emmett (Lois) DeWane, Leo (Dorothy) DeWane, Don (Ana) DeWane, and Genevieve (Russell) Osmun.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, at 8:45 am at Davenport Family Funeral Home, followed by a Mass at 10 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. A private burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Woodstock, following a luncheon at the church.
