Claire Kerner Fabre, a retired homemaker, died Saturday of heart failure at Chateau Living Center. She was 83. Mrs. Fabre was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 35 years. Survivors include two sons, Edward and Fred Fabre Jr.; a daughter, Linda Fabre Magri; a brother, Ronald Sanders; a sister, Mary Kerner Whitney; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Burial will be in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
