Died suddenly and peacefully in her sleep after a recent move to Roseville, California to be closer to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Leonaine was born and raised In Porterville, California to Dwight Wells and Iva (Coats) Wells. She was a descendant of the founding fathers of Porterville CA. She was preceded in her death by both her parents, her brother Roger D. Wells, Half sister Vicki Ann Coats, and her ex-husband, Richard S. Dixon. She attended Bakersfield High School and Bakersfield City College.


She and her husband (Dick Dixon) settled in Claremont, California to raise their 5 children.

She volunteered at Claremont Presbyterian Church, worked for the Claremont Unified School District, and the San Antonio Botanical Gardens. Later in life she earned a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.


She was a lover of books and gardening. She also supported Uncommon Good organization which empowers family through health and education. At her wishes she was cremated and ash spread at one of her favorite places.
